For a country that is self-proclaimed messiah of the entire world's woes, it was surprising to see that three (of the 4) news channels in my hotel room at Milpitas covered only Anna Nicole Smith's baby-source for the 15 days I was there!!! This is the extent of "world view" that they are exposed to...
Of course, back in India, Arun-Liz wedding woes have displaced much of the news off front pages.
So I guess the answer to your question is-- no, they are not. Apparently they are richer (hence smarter) than we are!!
